PAL Compatibility Problems of the Sony DVP S-7000 DVD player

The Sony DVP S-7000 player was originally designed to play only NTSC DVDs. In June 1999 DVD Upgrades released the first version of a modified firmware which has PAL support enabled. Because this modification is based on the original Sony 7000 firmware, which was not fully debugged for PAL, some problems can occur. Many problems are caused by DVDs, which were mastered incorrectly. Sony (and other manufacturers) added lots of code into their newer firmware releases to avoid such problems. Unfortunately these upgrades are not yet available for the DVP S-7000. If you have any other DVDs which do not work correctly, please report them to me.
